kringer pants

bless the people with time on their hands, for if they hadn't the time (or the hands for that matter), we would not have the following.

going through my head

lunch.jpg

is there anything more disgustingly yummy than alpha-getti (or any of its counterparts in different shapes)? i know it's the can in the cupboard that should be reserved for serious hangovers but man, it was there, i needed lunch, you see how the pieces fell together.

as i was stirring the pot, keeping the tender noodles from burning to the bottom, i looked for the letters i would need to take the above photo*. i found all but the "t" and just as my mouth opened to curse Heinz to the bowels of hell for skimping on "t", the letter popped up through the murky tomato sauce (i don't think it's tomato sauce really, more like sugar, oil, and red dye #42).

so in a couple of weeks i'm going to jet off to the east coast for a few days. first it was looking like Cape Breton but now the lean is towards Newfoundland. I've never seen the east but have always wanted to. why not vacation in my own country for crying out loud....no exchange!

this joint needs a face lift. i'm going to try to post photos and/or artwork before each post. i love the visual aspect of online journals.

* yes, as sad as it is i took the time to play with my food in order to take a photo for my blog.

kitten mountain

kitten.jpg

comfykitten.jpg

i was visiting Rob's kittens again last night. they're about 8 weeks old now and all they wanted to do was play. well one of them (the shy one) sat in the closet and stared at me. as you can see from the second photo my shoes became the central play area...is there anything more fun than shoelaces? please note that, despite how it may looks in that second photo, my jeans are NOT tight fitahs. they actually have a pretty standard leg width, sort of a boot cut i guess you could say. i don't want you thinking i've gone tapered, heaven forbid.

that little guy in the first photo reminds me of my cat Oliver (RIP) and the kitty on my legs in the other one was a permanent fixture. always jumping on me, claws out, crawling all over my shoes as if conqeuring the mightiest mountain. i have so many scratches on me, i felt them all when the hot water hit me in the shower this morning. they're on my legs, my arms, hands, back, and neck (they like to climb).

happy fall by the way. last night it rained and it really felt like a cozy autumn night, i was loving it. today is still a bit warm but the breeze is a little cooler. i can't wait to wear sweaters!

i must apologize for the boringness of these posts as of late. i've been feeling really creative lately (i love when i get like this) BUT nothing much seems to be coming out. how is that?

"maybe we'll change the title"

so far so good with this years film fest. i've seen 4 films (10 more to go) and i've enjoyed 3 out of the 4 VERY much.

the first film was 'neverwas' which had a great premise, awesome acting by ian mckellen (of course) yet it lacked something. there was a love story that didn't need to be there. it was okay but the other 3 i saw were much more yummy.

second film: 'capote' in which PSH blew me away with his portrayal of truman capote. the film was excellent!

third film: 'breakfast on pluto' which i LOVED to bits! i'm now in love (it's true and real) with cillian murphy. i share the true and real love with kate who had a little moment with him (celeb spottings will be mentioned in the next post). he played a fantastic transvestite!!!

fourth film: 'bubble' which might be my favourite so far. there were no professional actors in it and it was done so simply. a simple story about a love triangle in a small town amongst 3 factory workers. i know it doesn't sound like much but it's films like these that make me love the fest. it was directed by steven soderbergh and it was him who said my title quote when asked "where did the title of the film come from" and he had trouble answering it. it was a funny moment, you really had to be there i guess.

i have at least one film a day until the end of the fest (thursday sees me at 4 films...yikes).

summer sickly

newview.jpg
the view from damian's new apartment

i have a cold which means a cough that keeps me from a good nights beauty sleep which means i am reduced to the region of hell known as BUCKLEY'S! the first night i took it i almost lost it by gagging over the sink (who's a pretty girl?). that stuff is ass, it actually has liquid trees in it....no wonder it tastes like a forest!

off to the film fest box office again today to deal with the tickets i still need films for (didn't get all my picks this year....bastards. we've been SO lucky every year to get all the films we wanted, it was bound to happen.) it's hell on earth trying to do this as most of the films are sold out, oh well, we got some of our picks which is good! bright side bright side bright side.
